Designing a tabletop experience for the browser.

Dungeons & Dragons thrives on imagination, storytelling and the freedom to do anything. Translating this experience into a digital platform powered by AI presents fundamentally different demands than a typical web project. DnD AI offers players the ability to create their own characters, design campaigns and dive into AI-generated adventures – solo or in multiplayer.

The challenge was multifaceted. The platform combines a Character Creator, Campaign Designer, a campaign library, real-time gameplay and character progression in a single application. Each of these features is complex enough to be its own product – together, they needed to be unified into a coherent experience that both seasoned D&D veterans and newcomers can understand immediately. At the same time, there was no brand identity to position the product in the growing market of AI gaming tools: visually striking enough for a fantasy universe, yet clean and modern enough for a tech platform.

DnD AI didn't need a pretty theme. DnD AI needed a thoughtful design system that transforms complexity into the joy of play.

We developed a complete brand identity and comprehensive UX/UI design system for DnD AI – from strategic positioning to the final interface element.

The brand strategy positions DnD AI at the intersection of tabletop tradition and AI innovation. The core message "Unleash your imagination with limitless gameplay" speaks to players who love the pen-and-paper experience but don't want to need a group of six friends to get started. The visual identity blends fantasy aesthetics with a modern, digital design approach: atmospheric and immersive without sacrificing the clarity that a complex web app demands.

The UX/UI design makes the platform's depth accessible. The Character Creator guides players step by step through race, class, background and equipment – deep in complexity, simple in interaction. The Campaign Designer gives players the tools to build their own worlds: plot, setting, timeline and hooks – with no barriers to creative expression. The campaign library presents community content with clear metrics on player counts and popularity, so players find the right adventure in seconds.

For DnD AI, this means: a brand and interface that mirrors the boundless creativity of the game – and a user experience that immerses players in the world from the very first click.
